Russia's Kamchatka region at a depth of 51 kilometres (32 miles).
The US National Tsunami Warning Centre stated that the
quake posed a tsunami threat. However, the Kamchatka section of Russia's
emergency ministry reported that there was no fear of a tsunami and that
recorded aftershocks from the earthquake ranged in magnitude from 3.9 to 5.0.
The earthquake struck at a depth of about 50

Following the first quake, several aftershocks were
registered, but at a lower intensity, according to the Kamchatka section of
Russia's Unified Geophysical Service's website.
